Check out this absurd footage from what is reportedly a Ford automotive assembly plant...who knows if that part of it is true, but the video looks pretty legit....legitimately terrifying.
According to Asimov's Three Laws of Robotics:
- A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm
- A robot must obey orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
- A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
In this video, watch as Laws 1 and 2 come into conflict, resulting in the swift aerial exercise of Law 3:
You just KNOW that robot wants to swat that guy into the ground as payback for not respecting its individuality. Intergalactic genius Ray Kurzweil predicts that in the year 2029, artificial intelligence "...will claim to be conscious and openly petition for recognition of the fact."
With just a centimeter more, this video could have been the robot world's first signature on that petition!
